Shane is in his is 2nd season at Carr Lane
after moving from Morecambe CC.
He brings a previously unseen quality to the
side, his ability to not so much build
an innings as take root at the crease. Likened
to Boycott without the shots, he has great powers of concentration
and self-discipline,
resisting the temptation to hit the ball off the square until
at least the end of May.
Also seems to have established a place in the
'concrete cordon', though this owes
more to fact, that he can't throw the ball past his toe-end
